City Creek Center & Skybridge

Commercial
2012

City Creek Center (CCC) is a transformative mixed-use development located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. Spanning over 23 acres across two city blocks, the project includes a vibrant open-air shopping mall, residential units, office spaces, and two below-grade parking structures. Developed by City Creek Reserve, Inc., and Taubman Centers, Inc., CCC was designed to be a central hub of activity, blending retail, dining, and community spaces while maintaining a strong connection to the historical significance of the area, particularly the City Creek water source that played a vital role for early settlers.

One of the standout features of City Creek Center is its unique architectural design, which incorporates a foliage-lined walkway that mimics the natural flow of City Creek. This design not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the development but also fosters an inviting atmosphere for shoppers and residents alike. Key anchor stores include national retailers like Nordstrom and Macy's, alongside a diverse mix of specialty shops and eateries, ensuring a rich shopping experience.

As part of a broader urban revitalization initiative known as Downtown Rising, the City Creek Development encompasses significant renovations and new constructions, including the Deseret Building and the KeyBank Tower. FFKR Architects played a crucial role in designing and coordinating various elements of the project, including the integration of traffic management systems and landscaping to enhance the surrounding environment. By blending modern retail and residential spaces with historical context and thoughtful urban design, City Creek Center continues to shape the cultural and economic landscape of Salt Lake City.
